Rental cars with mobile navigation
Strategic partnership - no more customers getting lost
Budapest, 26 October 2006 - Sixt Hungary's rental cars are now equipped with GPS navigation devices. Launched in a volume unique in Hungary, the new service is available to both Hungarian and international car rental customers.
Several car rental companies have taken steps to meet customer demand for navigation systems, but none of them have embarked on such a large-scale development project that Sixt is implementing. The company has equipped its rental cars in every car group with over seventy GPS devices representing the most advanced technology. As regards creating the required technical background, Mr. Gábor Dévai, managing director of Sixt rent a car Hungary says that the car rental company tried to find partners whose sophisticated solutions would be ideally suited to the high quality services provided by Sixt. "We looked at the current supply in the GPS market, and after thorough evaluation, selected the best hardware and navigation software combination for our customers" adds Mr. Ákos Zeisky, Sixt Hungary's senior key account manager.
Sixt rental vehicles now come equipped with Mio C310 DigiWalker color touchscreen navigation devices - distributed in Hungary by LCP Systems - which, in addition to the latest GPS system, also include a picture viewer, an MP3 player and even game programs. "The Mio C310 multifunctional navigation device is the ideal navigator for your car: it is compact, tough and has an easy-to-use menu, which car renters can master in a few minutes" describes Mr. Viktor Hegedűs, managing director of LCP Systems.
The hardware has a startup screen tailored to Sixt's image, and also bears the car rental company's logo. It uses the iGO GPS navigation software developed by Nav N Go Kft., which includes detailed maps of Hungary and Eastern Europe as well as the major roads of Western Europe to help domestic and international customers find their way. The software, which offers voice navigation in several languages, can also be extended with further iGO maps, such as the iGO Europe 2006 product, which includes detailed maps of 26 countries.
"Sixt and Nav N Go both place great emphasis on innovation, and both companies are at the forefront of developments, thus it is no accident that we have found each other. This cooperation allows us to offer a state-of-the-art, market leading service in the car rental business" commented Mr. András Fazakas, director of operations at Nav N Go Kft., the creator of iGO GPS navigation software.
